Hello There,

I just wanted to tell you a little bit about myself, so you can get a better picture as to why I am the way I am. So here goes....

I grew up in the Northern Interior of Alaska, in a little town called Tok. The winters could be pretty severe, with temperatures reaching as low as -80 degrees! So, having indoor hobbies like woodworking is a must during the colder months. Not to mention that in a place as isolated as Tok, people really have to rely on their creativity and mechanical skills to survive.

In 1998, I moved from Alaska to Colorado. I've been hooked on archery since the age of 12 and the Colorado weather allows me to shoot outdoors year round. I compete in several 3-D tournaments each year and have in this I began shooting in both State and National Archery tournaments as well. I managed to place first at the National Field Archery Outdoor Championships this year. There's nothing quite like seeing the arc of an arrow shot from a Longbow at an 80 yard target!

My woodworking passion began at the age of 11 and has never left me. Some of my woodworking creations include things like dogsleds, snowshoes, log furniture, fine furniture, cabinetry, carpentry and primitive bows. On those cold winter days in Alaska, I had the chance to come up with some pretty crazy projects.....my poor woodshop teacher. The "Death Defying" mahagony snowboard was a doozy!

So, as you can see, my two passions are woodworking and archery. It was only a matter of time before they mixed together and sent me down the path of the "Bowyer". For the last 5 years, my focus has been on designing and building modern Longbows and Recurves. I create all of my own designs from scratch and rigorously test each of them under extreme conditions. I never stop searching for a way to improve my designs and I can custom build a bow to fit nearly any draw length, hand size and shooting style.

Well, that's a glimpse into my life. My love of archery and woodworking is nearly an obsession at times, but that's because they are so much fun to do. There's always another tournament to go shoot in, or another stump to shoot at, or a new design to try out. So, enjoy life, have fun and shoot straight.
