Caring for your new Heritage Archery Bow:

  • NEVER dry fire your bow! (Dry firing is drawing and releasing the string without an arrow nocked) This can cause serious personal injury and permanent damage to the bow.
  • Always use a stringer to string or un-string your bow.
  • Always unstring your bow when not in use.
  • Use arrows that are at least 9 grains per pound of draw weight. For example: If your draw weight is 50# at your draw length, use arrows that weigh 450 grains or more.
  • Occasionally applying a quality furniture wax will help preserve your bow’s finish.
  • Store your bow in a cool, dry place. Avoid exposure to excessive heat and prolonged moisture. Extreme temperatures can damage your bow.
  • The recommended String Material is B-50 for traditional bows.
  • Brace height for a recurve is approx. 7.5” to 8.25”
  • Brace height for a longbow is approx. 6.5” to 7.25”
